Henry B. Renwick graduated from Columbia college in 1833. He was the eldest son of James Renwick, and was a mechanical engineer and inspector of steamboat engines. He was the first U.S. inspector of steam vessels at the port of New York in 1853. He married Margaret McPherson in June, 1892. He was mentioned in 18631229CAS_TxW as the Local port inspector whose position was being angled for by a man named Mangle Minthorne.
