She states: "Pa received the 2d vol of the “Political History” yesterday I have not yet completed the 1st volume and have only glanced at the 2d just to see what Mr Jabez D. Hammond thought about some people in whom I am interested – the glance was not at all satisfactory – " According to his find a grave page, he was also a national and state political figure. Served as a US congressman from NY between 1815 and 1817. and Was a NY state senator from 1817 to 1821. In 1838 Became a state judge.
