Biography

William II was born in the Netherlands. He married Princess Mary Stuart in 1642. He became the Prince of Orange upon his father's death. He tried to negotiate a treaty with the French to declare war against England and recommence war against the Spanish. These plans were never carried out because he died of small pox in November 1650, 8 days before his son, William III, and later King of England, was born.
