Biography
Ulphus, Prince of Deira is said to have donated a large ivory horn to the York Cathedral, along with granting the whole of his lands and revenues to God and St.Peter. He gave his land to God and St.Peter to hinder his two sons quarelling over their inheritance. To seal his gift he filled the horn with wine and drank from it. The horn is still on display at the Cathedral and WHS mentions it in his letter to FMS on 18330714.
