Morgan Dix
Birth: 11-1-1827
Death: 4-29-1908
RelationshipsBiography
He was the son of John and Catherine and brother to Baldwin Dix. When his father was serving in politics in the 1840s, Morgan lived in Albany with his family. FMS wrote to LMW in 1842 about CAS's party in which Morgan and his brother, Baldwin, played with FWS. Morgan grew up to become a reverend of the Trinity Church. Oddly enough in 1880, Morgan was the subject of a bizzare hoax in which a suspect named "Joe" sent out masses of letters to various people posing as Morgan. Those people immediately knocked on Morgan's door and were outraged when they found out that Morgan never sent them letters. Joe demanded Morgan pay him out to cease the fraudulent letters so Morgan involved the police who investigated and found out that Joe was actually Eugene Edward Fairfax Williamson.
