Georgetown
The funeral of Waldemar De Bodisco, late Russian Consul General at New York, took place from the residence of Mr. B. [Brooke] B. Williams, on Road Street, yesterday at 6PM. Among a large concourse of well-known citizens present was the Russian Minister, Mr. Nicholas Shiskin, who accompanied the wife of the deceased Count to the grave. The pallbearers were Admiral Semetchkine, of the Russian Navy; Waldemar de Missner, Secretary to the Russian Legation; Mr. B. [Brooke] B. Williams and three sons of the deceased – Alexander, Waldemar and Borus; Mr. J.J. Beall, H.H. Dodge, J.F. Ennis, Frank Jones and Colonel Denmead, acting as honorary pallbearers. The funeral services were held at the chapel at Oak Hill, conducted by the Rev. A.R. Stuart, of Christ Protestant Episcopal Church and the remains were interred in the family lot, where repose also the mortal remains of Count Alex De Bodisco and his two sons, Alexander and Sash.
