Biography

Saint Sophia had three daughters Faith, Hope, and Love, named after the three Christian virtues. The young girls and their mother would not offer sacrifice to the goddess Artemis. They were then tortured while their mother was forced to watch. They were ultimately beheaded and Saint Sophia took her bodies to bury them. Three days after their burial she died. Although she did not suffer for Christ it is said she was given a martyrs crown because she "suffered in her heart."
