Biography
Darius Ogden mills was born in Westchester county, N.Y. He became a banker in NY, but was lured by gold rush to California in 1848. He became successful in mines, and in 1864 he founded the Bank of California. He left the bank to Ralston, who, during the crash in the 1870s, committed suicide. After Ralston died Mills re-took his position as President and helped to restore the bank.
