Biography
Valentine Horton was born in Vermont and studied law in Connecticut. He practiced law in Pennsylvania and Ohio. He was elected as a Whig from Ohio to the 34 and 35th Congresses. He was a member of the peace convention geld in Washington D.C., in an effort to devise means to prevent the impending war.
