Biography

He worked as a black smith (a stone cutter specifically) in Auburn and he enlisted to serve in the Civil War. He married Rachel and they had several children together (Gaston, Arthur, Mary, and William). He is mentioned in a 1861 letter as WSJ explained to WHS that his house in Auburn was nearly paid for.
