Biography
Sarah Marshall Gage (née Ely) was born on September 28, 1834 in Lambertville, NJ. She married George Gage of Beaufort, South Carolina sometime in the 1860's. Gage and her husband were involved with the schooling of ex slaves during the Civil War. Gage died on March 16, 1909 and is buried Saint Helena's Episcopal Churchyard.
