Mary (Remington) Raines was the daughter of Col. Thaddeus and Betsey (Root) Remington. She was the wife of Rev. John Raines Jr. They were married May 8, 1838. He was a minister in the Genesee Conference and East Genesee Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
