Biography

Thomas Sidney Jesup was an established military leader for several decades in the nineteenth century. In 1818, President Andrew Jackson appointed him as a temporary Adjutant General and Quartermaster General. On May 8, 1828 he was brevetted Major General. Often referred to as the Father of the Modern Quartermaster Corp. He held the post for 42 years and died while in office at the age 0f 72.
