Olive Hall Simons Bliss was the mother of William Wallace Smith Bliss. In Frances Miller Seward's letter to her sister Lazette Miller Worden dated February 3, 1850, Frances shares her excitement that her son, Augustus, would be returning home but writes that she "shall not actually die as poor Mrs Bliss did when her son came from Mexico –as I am not equally infirm– but I cannot think long on the subject with any composure."
