Biography

Minthorne Tompkins was the son of Daniel D. Tompkins and Hannah Minthorne Tompkins. Minthorne Tompkins was born in Westchester County. He was a member of the N.Y. Assembly in 1833 and 1834, and afterwards became State Senator. He spoke out against slavery. In his later years he lived at Stapleton, Staten Island.
