Zsuzsanna Kossuth "played an active role organizing field hospitals during the 1848-49 Revolution and Freedom Struggle in Hungary. After the lost cause she had suffered serious harassment by the Habsburg authorities and was forced to move abroad first to Brussels than with the help of the American Government to the United States. She passed away her in New York City in 1854."
