Biography

George was the brother of Dr. Augustus Doane, a friend of the Seward family.  Mother: Mary Prince Father, Samuel Brown Doane.  He married Abigail P. Buckman. He was mentioned in a letter from Frances Seward to her sister Lazette Worden in January 1852, "I only had ten minutes to spare as we had company at dinner, a brother of Dr. Doanes...Mr. Doane took Fanny to the theater."

Mr. Doane was a stock broker in Boston; a member of the Boston Brokers Board and New York Mining Stock Exchange.
