Donald Grant Mitchell graduated from Yale University and was the first editor of Harper's Magazine. He wrote many books on art, literature, landscape gardening, and urban and rural aesthetics. He wrote under the pseudonym "LK Marvel". Some of his books include: Rural Studies, My Farm of Edgewood, Dream Life, and Reveries of a Bachelor.
