William Allen
Birth: 9-25-1817
Death: 1-7-1881
Biography
He was a lawyer working in Auburn, and the 1859 city census lists his firm as Porter, Allen, & Beardsley. He married Sarah Palmer Allen in 1856 and they had two (possibly more) children together. He owned several properties in Auburn, and it seems likely that it was his house on Genesee St that partially burned down in a 1859 fire. He was appointed postmaster of Auburn from 1861 to 1869.
