Biography

Luigi Carlo Farini was an Italian statesman at the time of Italian unification. Around the time of the Austro-Sardinian War, he became the dictator of Modena. His son Domenico Farini was visiting Count di Cavour in Turin in 1859 while William Henry Seward was also visiting the Count. In December of 1862, he was given the role of premier of the Kingdom of Italy, but he resigned because of his poor health.
