Gnaeus Hispallus was the husband of Cornelia and buried in the Tomb of the Scipios, which William Henry Seward visited during his travels in Rome. He was Roman consul in 176 B.C.E. Seward writes of Gnaeus and the others buried in the tomb in his letter of August 16, 1859.
