Mentioned in a letter from Abby Hall to Frances Seward, March 21, 1833,recommending a Miss Colburn as a teacher for Fanny. "She [Miss Colburn] has never taught except at Hanover. There my sisters and Cathy Sanborn have improved vastly under her tuition.”
