British-American Actor and Theater Manager, followed his son John Johnstone "Lester" Wallack back to America and successfully co-managed Wallack's Lyceum in New York City beginning in 1852. William Wallack opened a newly-built Lyceum theater in 1861 at the corner of Broadway and 13th Street in New York City. The "new theater" is referenced in Fanny Seward's 1862-1863 diary where she attends a production of "Bosom Friends" in which Wallack's son "Lester" performs the role of "Mr. Union."
