Daughter of Thaddeus Welles (1806-1876) and Emily Maria Kellogg Welles, neice of Secretary of the Navy Gideon Welles, she married Rev. Edward Goodridge in 1868. Fanny Seward may refer to her in her 1862-1863 diary when she and Anna make a social call at the Welles home in Washington, D.C.
