Daughter of Stephen and Mary Pleasonton, sister of Generals Augustus and Alfred Pleasonton, died unmarried. Referenced in Fanny Seward's 1862-1863 diary where she declares she "like[s] this single ladies," referring to Laura and her sister Clementina Pleasonton, after they call at the Seward home in Washington, D.C.
