Provocateur and Peace Activist. Involved in failed Niagara Falls Conference of 1864 intending to end the American Civil War. Fanny Seward references him in her 1862-1863 diary, where she states "Fred read aloud that amusing letter of crazy William Cornell Jewett's to the President."
