Biography

Brigadier General during American Civil War from New York State. Served during Mexican American War. After the Civil War, he became the clerk of the Superior Court of New York City. Fanny Seward references him in her 1862-1863 diary as "fine looking" during an inspection of troops she witnesses with her father, William Henry Seward, in April 1863.
