Biography
Smith Sheldon founded the publishing company, Sheldon, Lamport and Blakeman, in 1854. By 1859, the company was rebranded and became Sheldon & Co. Smith's son, Isaac, became a partner of the firm in 1858. The company successfully printed many school books, children's books, and religious volumes. Sheldon & Co. stopped publishing in 1897.
