Biography
Dr. C. R. Agnew practiced medicine in New York throughout his career. Notably, and related to Olive Risley Seward's letter to William Henry Seward on August 4, 1872, he worked as a surgeon at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary before the Civil War and then founded the Brooklyn Eye and Ear Hospital and Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital. Olive sought his expertise for her eyes in 1872.
