Son of Price 4th Baron Dufferin and Clandeboye Blackwood, Frederick was "Lord Dufferin". He wrote a book titled "A Yacht Voyage. Letters from High Latitudes; Being Some Account of a Voyage in the Schooner Yacht "Foam," 85 O.M. to Iceland, Jan Mayen, and Spitzbergen, in 1856." He was mentioned in a letter from Caroline Dunscomb to Frances Seward on August 31, 1859. " I know you are a great reader—have you seen Lord Dufferin’s "Yacht Voyage in High Latitude?” There is something original about it, tho' it is written by a very young peer."
