Biography

Henry Stafford, Duke of Buckingham, was a pivotal figure in the War of Roses, aligned with King Edward IV and Richard III. He was suspected to have been involved in the disappearance of Edward's young sons.  The Duke of Buckingham was also a character in William Shakespeare's play Richard III. Frances "Fanny" Seward recalls Charles Barron playing the role in Leonard Grover's National Theater production in her 1860s diary fragments.
