Biography
Gaius Cassius Lontinus was a Roman general. In 44 BC, He was one of the conspirators of Julius Caesar's assassination. After Caesar's murder, Cassius left Rome and took refuge in Syria where he built up an army. Cassius made and alliance with Marcus Junius Brutus and they amassed their armies in an effort to defeat their enemies in the West. Cassius was ultimately defeated by Mark Antony, another Caesarian leader.
