Biography
Augusta Mary Lyons Fitzalan-Howard was the daughter of Sir Edmund Lyons and Augusta Louisa (Rogers) Lyons. She married Sir Henry Granville Fitzalan-Howard, Duke of Norfolk, on June 19th, 1839, with whom she had nine children. The Duchess of Norfolk may have been referenced in Frances "Fanny" Seward's 1862-1863 diary in connection with Lord Richard Lyons, her brother, who served in the British Diplomatic Corps in Washington, D.C., during that time.
