Biography

Thomas H. Seymour was a Congressional representative from Connecticut from 1843-1845, and then held various leadership roles in the military during the Mexican-American War. From 1850-1853 Seymour served as the Governor of Connecticut, and then became the Minister to Russia in 1853, and held that role till 1858. Thomas Seymour was mentioned in an April 1856 letter from Clarence Armstrong Seward to William Henry Seward.
