Vesta A Sittser
Birth: 4-1829
Death: 1-18-1916
Biography
Vesta A Sittser was a resident of Auburn, NY. In 1855 she worked as a teacher, although by the 1900 census she appears to have been operating a boarding house. According to census records and Find a Grave, she never married or had children.
Vesta is possibly mentioned in Fanny Seward's 1858-1859 diary, when she writes that "the scholars presented Miss Sittser their teacher with a beautiful silver card basket, containing the cards of the givers." However, it is not known if she was still working as a teacher in 1859 when this was written, meaning it is possibly referring instead to her sister, Ursula Sittser.
