Eliza W Franklin Dawes was the wife of James Lincoln Dawes. James and Eliza lived in Auburn, NY during the late 1850s and early 1860s, and were neighbors of the Seward family. Eliza was born in Providence, RI and married James there in 1856. When the couple lived in Auburn they had two children, Sarah and Henry, although they had more children after leaving Auburn. Sometime in the 1860s the Dawes moved to Englewood, NJ, where they spent the rest of their lives. Eliza passed away in Englewood at the age of 85, having outlived James by 16 years.
