Biography
Edward Ithamar Chase was a lawyer from Lockport New York. He was appointed Marshall of the Northern District of New York in 1861, but died suddenly in 1862. His death, and the search for a new marshall that ensued was the subject of a letter from Theodore Medad Pomeroy to Fredrick William Seward, dated October 14th, 1862.
