Alice Elizabeth (Miller) Fiero was born in Michigan, the daughter of Henry and Frances Miller. In 1866, she married William Pierson Fiero, an aspiring attorney and politician of Westchester County, New York. The couple had five children. Frances "Fanny" Seward references their recent marriage in her 1866 diary.
