Biography

Sara Hammond Palfrey was born in Boston, the daughter of Unitarian minister John Gorham Palfrey. She published several works of fiction under the nom de plume of "E. Foxton," including Herman, or Young Knighthood (1866), and Agnes Wentworth (1869), as well as works of poetry. Frances "Fanny" Seward references in her 1866 diary reading Herman.
