Biography
Rousseau was a General in the Union war. Prior to becoming a General, he was also a lawyer and politician in Kentucky and Indiana. He was born in Kentucky, and proved very influential in the state, being a integral figure in keeping Kentucky from succeeding from the Union during the Civil War. He is mentioned in Frances "Fanny" Adeline Seward's 1866 diary.
