Ephraim Sanford was a veteran of the War of 1812 and a farmer from Oneida County, NY. He is the father of Benjamin Franklin Sanford, who was a family friend of the Sewards and worked with William Henry Seward. Ephraim was mentioned in a letter from his son to Frances Miller Seward, dated March 20th 1861.
