Judge John R. Kellogg lived in Allegan, MI in 1865. He wrote to Frances Miller Seward on April 24, 1865 asking for news, "Favorable or unfavorable," because he was skeptical of the newspapers. Kellogg seems to have had family in or near Auburn and/or Oswego, NY.
