Anna Stockton (nee Potter) wrote to Frances Miller Seward in April of 1865 as the wife of General Robert Field Stockton (son of the same). She expressed her condolences with regard to the attack in Washington, D.C. that left William Henry Seward and son Frederick Seward gravely injured.
