Daughter of Jane and Robert Thompson. Jane was once a fugitive slave who had met Frances Worden Chesboro When France was visiting. In her Recollections of the Underground Railroad, Frances mentioned "[Jane's] daughter has a successful laundry establishment and also property in Washington." The 1940 census shows that she completed 4 years of college, and was widowed by that time.
