Julia Catherine Conkling founded the Oneida chapter of the "Daughters of the American Revolution." She was the wife of Roscoe Conkling, US congressman. She is first mentioned in Frances "Fanny" Adeline Seward's 1862 diary, where she is said to have attended a holiday dinner party in Washington, DC.
