Philada May 19.
My dear Jennings,
I wish you to be relieved of further
solicitude concerning the object of my coming here.
I have assurances of the requisite aid, but it is de-
sirable that the matter be supposed by our associates
to be uncertain until we meet in Albany on
the 28th instant.
I go to Bargaintown tomorrow. Return on
Monday, and then to New York & Albany. Our
board of proprietors meet at Albany on the 28th.
After that I return to Auburn.
I have a letter from you requesting me to pay
Halstead & Hains $100 for you. You must postpone
them until after the 1st of July when my pay-
ments will be over. If that will not do write to
me at Auburn & I will remit
To relax as intensity; to make less tense or violent • To forgive; to surrender the right of punishing a crime • To pardon, as a fault or crime • To give up; to resign • To send back • To transmit money, bills, or other things in payment for goods • To restore • To slacken • To abate in violence for a time •
from there.
Ever your friend & brother
