mans draft due 15/18 Aug. for $4630.
The charges are $3.18
to which you will add interest to this date
The draft is enclosed—
I have also paid D.E. Evans

Esq. my ^note^ of value $5000
interest due 1 October next. being in full of the first
notes for $4000— agreed to be paid for my interest in the
purchase.
I have left the deeds and discharge mortgages
to be executed by Mr. Van Hall

who has not yet
returned—

Pecuniary embarrassment supposed to be the
cause. It is apprehended here that he has made
way with $270.000 of funds left in his hands
by Redfield
Birth: 1788-12-27 Death: 1877-07-22
& Le Roy
Birth: 1794-11-27 Death: 1847-02-24
purchasers of the 4 counties
of Holland Co. But nothing certain is Known.
The feeling here is one of universal despondence
about many affairs.
We came here yesterday by way of Niagara
Falls
Lewiston & Brockport. We go on tonight
by way of Rochester.
All well—Love to all.
