Albany July 1.
My dear J,
After perhaps no greater delay than ought to have been expected we
are all together, and will leave for New York in the boat tonight.
I hope ten days will bring me to Chautauqua, with our business finally
closed.
It is made known here that an effort will be made to make up
a different face in regard to my position in Chautauqua & it is for that purpose
deemed very desirable that my friend Mr. Plumb
Birth: 1802-06-09 Death: 1877-08-31
should be at the Y. M. Conven-
tion

Editorial Note

Whig Young Men's Convention
in Utica. I fear his circumstances may make it unpleasant. Will you
say to him as of yourself that it is so desirable that you will save him less
of expense knowing that I would esteem it a duty to do so, and if he wishes
furnish the amount to him.
Yours faithfully
