Monday morning –
I have been unable to write. I arrived here on Monday af-
ternoon and went on Tuesday morning to the Episcopal
Convention at Utica. Returned from that place on
Friday. In the meantime have received your three letters,
for which I thank you. I wrote to Mr Van Hall
a letter which I hope will induce him to execute
the deeds as he ought. If he [ do ]

Our Convention was held here on Saturday and
appointed the Delegates, the best that could be selected.
There is no adverse sentiment here.
The Delegates from Albany are of the same character
as I am well informed.
In Orange they have appointed the same. The
Ward meetings were held in New York on Wednesday
last. Letters received from there assure us that that
is all as you would desire.
The same assurance comes from Westchester. Thus
far therefore all seems very well.
It is deemed desirable by our friends East that
several persons shall attend the Convention from

Chautauque. I will advise you further as I learn.
My corespondence swells so that I have scarcely time
as I have to depend upon friends to answer letters.
Assurances from Onondaga are of the same character
as those before mentioned.
We are all very well.
