Albany December 8th 1839
My dear Jennings,
Mr Maxwell
Unknown
has called upon me to state the agreement
he proposes to make with Mr Van Ness
Birth: 1807-03-02 Death: 1895-11-10
It seems to me to be one which
it is desirable to make - I think you had better write a statement of the
affair with proper explanation of its bearing send it to me for my approval
I will communicate it to Mr Robinson
Unknown
through our friend Mr Blatchford
Birth: 1798-04-23 Death: 1875-09-04

and try and get it accomplished. If Mr Van Ness would give some Col-
lateral security or make a payment of $700, 800 or 1000. it would be
easy to accomplish it. Yours truly,
W.H. Seward.
B.J. Seward Esq.
