My dear Jennings,
Mr Maxwell
he proposes to make with Mr Van Ness
it is desirable to make - I think you had better write a statement of the
affair with proper explanation of its bearing send it to me for my approval
I will communicate it to Mr Robinson
and try and get it accomplished. If Mr Van Ness would give some Col-
lateral security or make a payment of $700, 800 or 1000. it would be
easy to accomplish it. Yours truly,
